Desire is a sensory organ, moving with us through the world, feeling for the deeper things we want: connection, love, and a feeling of belonging that will bring us into the fullness of who we are.
The desire for those experiences are often squeezed out of our lives based on our ideas about what’s right or proper, or what we should be doing in any given moment, or who we aspire to be.
We feel it when this happens—our bodies contract, tighten, lose their flow. Our relationship with desire can be gauged by how fluid and flowing our bodies feel.
When we embrace and honor our desires, rather than resist or control them, we connect with something deeper.
This isn’t about being ruled by desire, but about listening to it, feeling it, and letting it guide us back into our bodies and the present moment.
When we do, everything opens: we feel alive, present, and electrified.
