The Dakini Liberates

In Eros,
every strategy and
learned trick that’s made you successful in love and relationships, has to go.
If you ever truly want intimacy, the shape you’ve contorted yourself into,
the one that meets expectations, that earns affection,
that makes you desirable—it all has to become undone.

Most people move through relationships as if reading from a script, unconsciously conforming to what they believe
will be wanted. Even when they strip away layers and reach a space of emptiness, they often just use that space to mold themselves into yet another ideal. They mistake this shape-shifting for transformation, but the dakini knows better.

A shape-shifter bends and
re-forms to be loved, to be chosen, to avoid loss.
The dakini bends and re-forms to free you. The difference is absolute.

The first is born of fear, of a hunger to secure something outside of oneself. The second is the living embodiment of liberation. She becomes whatever is required to shake you awake.

From moment to moment, she holds every possibility and will play any role. She loosens your grasp on habit, disrupting your careful dependencies.

She will never let you “arrive.” The moment you think you’ve secured something, she shakes it loose. You cannot grasp her, because she was never something to hold onto in the first place.
And yet—there is nothing you could ever do to be rejected by her.

More Musings

The Age of Eros is a manifesto, a guide, to the coming of an era. This is a woman’s way.
