I Don’t Make a Good Girlfriend

I don’t have

what it takes

to push out,

to not be wrapped around until I can’t breathe,

and then find myself

gasping for air

and running fast.

They say that

Dakinis never land,

and if you squeeze

one too tightly,

they kick you out

of the sky.

I know that sky.

There are women these

days, ecofeminists they

call themselves,

who have taken on

trees as lovers.

If they can do that,

I can take you on, too,

as a memory, a mountain.

More Musings

The Age of Eros is a manifesto, a guide, to the coming of an era. This is a woman’s way.
