Hexed: When Women Disown Their Insecurity

Hexed is the automatic feeling of wanting to shut out or
shut down something that
arouses an insecurity in you. It feels like a confirmation of self doubt that causes a reaction. You know that you are hexed when you feel insulted because
if you didn’t already believe it you wouldn’t care.

If you’re tall and a person makes fun of you for being short, who cares. If you’re self conscious about being tall and someone says, “hey too tall how’s the weather up there” and you feel an impulse to insult them, hurt them, seek out their weak spots or withdraw “at” them in silent judgment or
gossip them down to size—you’re hexed.

You are putting the discomfort of your self consciousness outside of yourself and trying
to beat down the feeling inside of you “out there.” You are shadow boxing.

Most of what passes for ”care and concern for women”
is women being hexed. When women come out big
it hexes women who are playing the restraint game. “I’m just worried…” they will say.

Or when a woman is beautiful and you feel the need to comment, mentally leveling her: “I think she looks fake.” That’s hexed. Or when someone is successful and you feel the need to presume that they are unethical or greedy to assuage your feeling of failure.

When a woman gets attention for her success and you’re still playing the “significance from being broken game.”
And you “just hate her.” The Kardashians hexed a lot of people. Squared. Because they didn’t care, which really hexes people.

Hexed people trade in a hexed economy—complaint, upset, righteousness, self-pity.

“I feel this way because of them!”

“Yes you do”

Hexed loves company, collusion, and a lot of “me too’s.”

Un-hexed people
trade in up-liftment,
including straight talk on how to get the hell out
of the swirling-around-the-hexed drain.
They might even tease you even further to get you to snap out of it.
Out of what?
The illusion that you are not perfect (with room to grow).

Hexed people want to
bring you down to their level.
The un-hexed don’t want to bring you anywhere but issue invitations for you to come back to your original self.

The Age of Eros is a manifesto, a guide, to the coming of an era. This is a woman’s way.
