Creatives VS Critics

The day is here where the world is divided into
creatives and critics.

The creators create.
The critics parasite off of creative endeavor equally by copycatting and criticizing.

The critics only know to level
the playing field by bringing down
others to their level.
They will not make the creative investment to rise, so they need the originals out of the way so they can appropriate their goods without interference, hopefully making a buck or some significance off of the new cottage industry of takedown.

The critics project their
non-creative motives onto creatives.
Creatives just want to create.
They are given the gift provided they use it.
They don’t give a shit about
money, property, or prestige—those are (often) the mundane obstacles to the holy grail of creativity, most certainly not the reward.

But for critics who do not know the one and only state of mind that will gratify, once tasted.
The boons of a finite
material are everything.
They could not imagine possessing something so great that one could not be bought, flattered, threatened, or bribed.

Driven by jealousy,
they measure worth in outward appearance, wanting to win, to be right, to “show them,” to gain approval, and to possess.
They literally
sell their eternal creative souls
for the ephemeral
material appearance.

The creative knows the hard-earned lesson that cannot be conveyed, only lived:
Everything, absolutely everything, can be taken from you, and if you die protecting that creative seed,
use your own body
and mind as protection.

When the storm passes—and critical storms always pass because they run out of steam—you can grow back what you had (and more) while they are still gnawing at the bones of your abandoned skeleton.
