Our Only Job in This Life Is to Keep the Lights On

Our only job in this life is to keep the lights on. There is no more enlightened activity than this. Even the idea of saving, changing, or doing good in the world is just that much ego.

It is a compensation for what we take when the lights are out. The intention is to live in this natural state of upwelling. We do not need to effort or scrub or grasp; we do not need to submit or comply. To become fully illuminated, we only need to set the conditions for what naturally wants to happen and work alongside those forces. In this illumination, we know love, and we know the divine—not as a distant provider but from the inside out and operating through us.
