There are things men were never taught, trained to notice, or understand. Things that may confound men’s rational, practical, and productive sensibilities. Things that may be confronting to men’s sense of masculinity, sting their pride, or ask them to offer more than they know how to.
The first is to let themselves be moved. Men are no longer in a domain where they know everything. Eros operates according to wisdom, not information.
Men’s accumulated skills, knowledge and talents are of little use here. They are in a genuinely foreign terrain, with its own language, customs, and laws. They can only learn to navigate it skillfully through experience, which requires them to allow themselves to be moved
To observe and feel before responding. To hear their intuition before reacting. To slow down and notice.
